Nabil Al-Bulushi is currently the Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storge (CCUS) manager at Petroleum development Oman (PDO).  

Nabil has more than 21 years of industry experience, including Schlumberger Oilfield Services (Currently SLB), PDO, Shell International, and Saudi Aramco. During this time, he has held various positions including technical and managerial.

Nabil has a master’s in petroleum engineering and PhD in artificial Intelligence from Imperial College London. And he is also a Visiting Lecturer at Imperial College London since 2012.

Prasenjit Ray is Project Engineering Manager with more than 25 years' industry experience, in the oil and gas processing (extensively sour gas), refinery and chemical industries. As the Head of Network and Business Development at OQGN, Mr. Ali Mohammadi is responsible for implementing OQGN’s growth strategies and developing its natural gas network to meet Oman’s domestic needs. He has over 15 years of experience in oil and gas project development, spanning concept to commissioning. Mr. Mohammadi holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Chemical and Process Engineering from the University of Canterbury and a Master of Philosophy in Advanced Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge.

Eng. Iman Allawati is a full-time engineer in Transport Modelling Department in MTCIT, where she serves as a director of the department since 2020 and held a position of Director of Planning & Investment from 2018-2020.

Eng. Iman graduated from SQU as civil engineer in 2008 and completed her Master degree in Edinburgh Napier University (Scotland) in 2016 majoring in Transport Planning & Engineering. 

Her research focus area is on the development of public transport in Oman, leadership importance in public transport. She got a certificate from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Urban planning and leadership program conducted by MOHUP in 2023.

A technical finance expert with experience in M&A and strategy consulting in the energy sector, Karan has advised a number of utilities and infrastructure funds across Europe and the Middle East in areas including renewable energy diversification, electricity and gas grid infrastructure, and energy retail.

44.01 eliminates CO2 by turning it into rock. The company’s pioneering technology accelerates the natural process of CO2 mineralisation to remove captured CO2 permanently in less than twelve months. 44.01 takes CO2 captured directly from the air, or from hard-to-abate industrial processes, helping decarbonise vital industries and ultimately return the atmosphere to sustainable levels of CO2. The process is safe, scalable and lasts forever.

The presentation will provide an introduction to 44.01’s technology and then discuss the role it can play in helping Oman reach its Net Zero ambitions, and the potential economic benefits it could bring. As the company’s Communications and External Affairs Manager, she serves as the public relations, events and social investment strategist, responsible for maintaining a robust brand identity for bp in Oman.

Focusing her efforts on campaigns designed to maximize organizational goals, Thuraya is part of the team that has overseen the creation and deployment of a branding, communications and external affairs strategy for bp’s prestigious Block 61 gas field (Khazzan and Ghazeer). Thuraya’s experience in bp includes working in Kuwait, where she was assigned to establish the Communications & External Affairs department deepening her external affairs and stakeholder engagement skills.

Jawaher Al Ghafri, a dynamic and dedicated professional, is at the forefront of environmental education and conservation in Oman. Armed with a Bachelor's in Communication Studies from Sur College of Applied Sciences, Jawaher joined the Environmental Society of Oman (ESO) in 2016 as an Education Coordinator.

In her tenure with ESO, Jawaher has demonstrated exceptional leadership, spearheading various educational programs aimed at school children, college students, and university students across different regions of the Sultanate. One of her notable achievements is the establishment of a 24-hour Green Innovation Ecothon in 2019, fostering creative solutions to environmental challenges among college and university students.

Jawaher's commitment to environmental education extended to public schools through initiatives like the Veolia-sponsored Green Schools Initiative and the Namat Competition in 2021-2022 and 2022-2023. The Namat Competition encouraged students to form teams & work towards minimizing their water, energy, or waste footprint.

In 2023, Jawaher expanded her impact through various education and community outreach initiatives, including an online competition (Wa’ai) targeting youth (18-25) and a proposed experiential learning tool, Traveling Turtle Mandoos, dedicated to Oman's sea turtles for students in grades 3rd to 8th. She has also been working on an environmental quiz format competition (Eco Warriors) aimed at local universities and colleges, a Plastic Awareness Proposal for a nationwide campaign, awareness visits to Nizwa University, and a dedicated innovation summer camp in Sur.

Jawaher has also been an ESO representative at the Ministry of Social Development, collaborating with the Oman Centre of Governance and Sustainability.
