be’ah strives towards a vision to preserve the environment of a beautiful Oman for future generations. be’ah's main objectives are to control environmental damage incurred during traditional waste dumping processes; structure the waste sector and its related services in a sustainable manner; develop the industry; and support the economy. Within this umbrella, be’ah works on moving towards sustainable waste management practices as per the international standards by establishing the required infrastructure, restructure the municipal waste collection services and improve public awareness of waste management.
The International Sustainability Resources & Technology Conference (ISRTC) aims to connect local and global stakeholders across academia, industry, and public sector to foster constructive debate and enhance cross-collaboration. The conference is based on a scientific program focused on many areas such as sustainable resource management, circular economy, and environmental responsibility. ISRTC also promotes implementable solutions that are scalable and sustainable while bringing together experts, policymakers, and strategic partners with a key focus on supporting the needed transition to meet international targets such as The Paris Agreement and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
ISRTC will be hosted by Oman Environmental Services Holding Company- (be’ah) while the event aims to contribute to Oman Vision 2040 and the diversification of the economic fabric of Oman and the region, making Oman a leading force in the technological transition to a sustainable future. The conference also aims to establish a platform to accelerate the deployment of cutting edge technological innovations, leading to the achievement of the sustainable development goals and the transition to a circular economy.
By hosting this conference, be’ah’s key emphasis is to lead change by focusing on developing sustainable and reliable infrastructural solutions. The company firmly believes that maximizing the effective usage of resources and making environmentally sound decisions will encourage the adoption of sustainable practices in business sectors.
In its first edition, the ISRTC is a collaboration between the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA), a renowned global organization, and a specialist event organizer led by a number of independent and not-for-profit technological research institutes organizing the Global Sustainable Technology & Innovation Conference (G-STIC). The event is set to be held between 13 – 17 MARCH 2022 at Oman Convention and Exhibition Center. ISWA will share its knowledge and experience in sustainable waste management and climate mitigation by forming expert working groups to advance expertise. The event aims to increase cooperation with all stakeholders in waste management, environmental research, industry, particularly national institutions, as well as international organizations. Up to date studies, projects, and developments relating to topics such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals and those addressing the Circular Economy are a key pillar of the upcoming ISRTC event. Industrial partners and their representatives will also exhibit state of the art technologies as well as best practices and case studies providing an essential benchmark for participants in the event.
